Cute clip: Ngunnawal Primary School Hands Across Australia

Ngunnawal Primary School? has won the ACT division of GenerationOne and Australian School of Performing Arts’ Hands Across Australia School Competition to end indigenous disparity.

With more than 1100 entries from across Australia, the competition challenged kids to perform, video and create their own rap version of the GenerationOne theme song “Hands Across Australia”.

Ngunnawal have the highest number of indigenous students of any ACT primary school.

The school says 80 students were involved in their entry in the Hands Across Australia School Competition, including 36 indigenous students, the year five and six vocal group, a year six band and the school’s group of Googar dancers.

In their original rap section the kids say:

We’re Ngunnawal Primary on Ngunnawal Land

We come from all over and together we stand

We’re deadly Koori kids from the ACT

Gubbi Gubbi, Maralag, Wiradjuri

Kamilaroi, Darkinung, Ngunnawal

Sharing our culture standing proud and tall

Reconciliation and Equality

No More Indigenous Disparity
