CAPO floor talks for public

Tamara Winikoff.

IN the lead-up to the gala CAPO 28, the Capital Arts Patrons Organisation is inviting the public to view its 2011 exhibition all week at the National Archives until the auction on November 26.

It’s not just a party but rather Canberra’s own annual survey art exhibition, silent and live auctions and artists’ awards (limited tickets are still available at www.capo.org.au or 6249 7860).

The exhibition is a 79-work survey of local, professional, contemporary artists, craft practitioners and designer-makers, offering insights into the life and culture surrounding Australia’s capital. Artists have donated to the 2011 CAPO exhibition with works in printmaking, drawing, jewellery, sculpture, textiles, ceramics and glass.

In a new move, CAPO is also holding a series of floor talks at the Archives, alternating in lunchtime and early evening spots, to help Canberra residents and visitors to an understanding of our art scene.

Late last week, CAPO had cultural commentator and arts advocate, Tamara Winkie, from the National Association for the Visual Arts talking about the arts, but you can still catch the floor-talks listed below.
