Clocks to wind forward

CLOCKS need to be put forward one hour this Sunday when daylight saving comes into effect.

Daylight saving will run from Sunday, October 2 to Sunday, April 1 next year.

The legislation which began in July 2008,  gives Canberra residents an extra four weeks of daylight saving, and followed an agreement made in 2007 at a Council for the Australian Federation meeting where the ACT, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania formally aggreed to harmonise daylight saving arrangements.
