TWO women from NSW will face the ACT Magistrates Court in relation to the ongoing CSIRO wheat crop investigation.
The women, aged 47 and 34, from the Sydney suburbs of Willoughby and North Bondi respectively, will be summonsed to the court charged with a number of offences including trespass and damaging Commonwealth property.
Police said the charges were a result of an ongoing investigation into the forced entry and trespass on to Commonwealth property in the ACT, and damage to that property on July 13. ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations have conducted extensive inquiries, which included executing a number of search warrants in NSW.
Police searched the Greenpeace headquarters in Ultimo, Sydney on July 21 and seized evidence which is still being reviewed.
The investigation is ongoing and police hope to identify further number of people who were involved or assisted in the offences.
The women are expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
