Cyclist struck by car

A JERRABOMBERA man was struck by a car last night as he cycled home on the Monaro Highway.

The 58-year-old man was travelling in the southbound lane of the Monaro Highway, approximately 500m north of the Alexander Maconochie Centre entrance at 7.30pm when he was struck by a car and thrown from his bike. The offending vehicle fled from the scene.

Police said the offending vehicle was reported to have been swerving in and out of lanes on the road before striking the cyclist. The cyclist was taken to Canberra Hospital with serious injuries.
