Faith in a green world

Bishop George Browning, Convenor of the World Anglican Communion Environmental Network (ACEN), will talk about “Faith in a Green World” at the Anzac Memorial Chapel of St Paul, Duntroon, on Sunday morning.

Bishop Browning returned last week from moderating an international ACEN meeting in Lima, Peru where delegates discussed the lack of awareness and, in many cases, unwillingness among corporations, governments and consumers to take action.

“We must respond urgently and creatively to the effects of climate change”, he said.

The Order of Australia Association’s annual MultiFaith Observance service begins at 11am.

ACT association chairman Len Goodman said that the former Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn and a member of the Advisory Council, Climate Australia, would speak on climate change and living with the grandchildren in mind and faithful stewardship of our resources.

Representatives of the Buddhist, Jewish, Hindi and Muslim faiths would also participate.
