Fensom scores new deal

CANBERRA Raiders have re-signed Shaun Fensom to the club until the end of 2014.

Raiders Coach David Furner said the retention of Fensom was another big step for the club and saw the young forward as an integral part of the clubs future.

“Shaun Fensom is obviously an important factor for this team going forward, so it’s a very good signing for the club and the team to have his current deal extended,” Furner said. “He’s a very good leader on and off the field and a guy that’s going to grow into his role as a senior player as he plays more games so we’re delighted to have him long term.”

Fensom, who was signed until the end of 2013, said he was happy to extend his current contract for another season and add certainty to his immediate future.

“Canberra’s a big part of my life now, I moved down here straight after school when I turned 18 so it’s played a big part of my adulthood so far so I’m happy to stay down here,” he said.
