Jocks in clash for gongs

CANBERRA’S commercial talkback station 2CC has five finalists at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards to be held this weekend on the Gold Coast.

Breakfast and drive-time personalities Mark Parton and Mike Welsh will go head-to-head as finalists in the Best Talk Presenter provincial category.

The perennial Welsh has won the gong for the past four years and is also a finalist for Best Current Affairs Presenter award. There will also be a battle with two of the behind the scenes staff who are up for the same award.

Welsh’s producer Monica Masters and Parton’s former Producer Matt Mitchell are both finalists for the Best Talk Show Producer award. Masters won the award last year.

Winners will be announced at the 23rd Australian Commercial Radio Awards to be held at Jupiters on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
