AUSTRALIAN photographer Rodney Dekker’s work will be on display at Civic Library as part of an Oxfam Australia exhibition showing the impacts of climate change on food security.
“Land is Life” documents the stories of people from the small Pacific Island nations of Kiribati and Tuvalu whose land is affected by storm surges, salination of arable soil, un-predictable weather and tidal increases. Scientists have predicted that these low lying coral atolls may be uninhabitable by mid-century.
“Land is Life” exhibition launch at Civic Library, from 6.30pm on October 12. The launch will feature guest speakers, multimedia presentations and a light supper. Entry is free.
