Queen spotting

The best areas to see the Queen as she travels from Government House to Floriade.

THE best spots to catch a glimpse of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on Thursday have been named.

The shores of Weston Park, Black Mountain Peninsula and the shoreline from Lennox Gardens to Commonwealth Place in front of the National Library and Questacon are recommended as the best spots to be when the Queen travels from Government House via water to the Floriade site at Commonwealth Park.

Commonwealth Park will remain closed to the public. People are urged to be at the locations by at least 10.30am.

The Commonwealth Avenue bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic while the Queen travels past. The Commonwealth Park/Floriade area, including parking will also be closed.

There will be another chance to see the Queen on Tuesday October 25 when they visit the Australian War Memorial.
