WORKERS have begun the big task of melting down the Skate in the City ice rink.

The ice rink, situated in Garema Square, was open to the public over the month of July, and due to its success was extended two days. It is likely to return next year with the promise of a bigger and better event.

Skate in the City have said an overwhelming number of interstate visitors used the ice rink.

A summer “In the City” family event is being planned.
