The Fairies’ festive fun

The Fairies head back to Canberra for their Christmas show "The Fairies Christmas Ballet".

By Rafiqa Fattah

WITH Christmas around the corner, widely recognised children’s band The Fairies are encouraging true Christmas spirit as they perform in the Canberra Theatre on Wednesday, November 9.

As a part of their eagerly anticipated eighth national tour, “The Fairies Christmas Ballet” will include more than 50 shows in 15 regions across Australia and is set to remind children to appreciate the gifts they receive and to acknowledge the thought behind them.

The show will include news songs, a lively script and choreographed dancing– with three classically trained ballet dancers set to entertain children and parents alike.

Jen Watts, creator and director of the stage show, says this year’s show is bound to be magical.

“The backdrop to the stage is also spectacular, with an enormous Christmas tree and plenty of lights and special effects that will guarantee a fan-fairy-tastic start to the Christmas festivities,” she said.
