Witness reports youths

THREE 15-year-old youths were caught by police, after two vehicles were stolen from two southside suburbs yesterday morning.

At around 1.30am, a member of the public reported to police that two cars were seen driving erratically in Isabella Plains and were then seen dumped in Babinda Place. It was reported to police that three males were seen leaving the area.

Police attended the site, and saw three youths run towards Mollee Crescent. After a short pursuit the youths were caught by police.

Tuggeranong police station officer-in-charge, Sgt Rod Anderson said this latest incident highlights the great work by a member of the public in alerting police so promptly.

“Because a member of the public contacted police shortly after witnessing some suspicious behaviour, police were able to quickly apprehend the youths,” he said.

The youths were taken to Tuggeranong police station but were later released. They are expected to face the Childrens Court at a later date.
