Adam shares his Google secrets

Security expert Adam Mein, an old boy of Marist College, with students, from left, James Colmer, college captain Gene Schirripa and Declan Burkeafter.
CALIFORNIA-based security expert Adam Mein returned to his old school today to present a youth forum for Year 11 and 12 students at Marist College in Pearce.

Adam graduated from Marist College in 1996 and has been working for Google in the US since 2010 as a leading expert in security vulnerability management.

He told students of his personal journey to reach his employment goals, explained the quirks of working at the Google offices and elaborated on the myriad of cyber defences that must be put in place for companies to defend themselves against online attacks.

Before joining Google, Adam worked for the Australian Department of Defence. His professional background covers a wide range of IT security functions: policy formulation to incident response; penetration testing to education and training.
