Airport atrium starts to take off

“WE never particularly planned it, but Canberra will get this wonderful terminal in 2013 for its Centenary year,” says Canberra Airport managing director Stephen Byron.
“When people look back, I am sure that this will be the key major project delivered in Canberra for its birthday celebrations.”
Stephen was waxing lyrical about progress on the dramatic atrium construction of the new terminal, of which half is already complete and through which the airport currently functions. The second half is due for completion next year.
“The steel structure and the glass elements within the atrium look fantastic – even if it is me saying so!”
