Armed woman threatens shop owner

A WOMAN armed with a knife attempted to rob a cafe and gift store in Kambah yesterday.

About 1.30pm, the offender entered Shabby Attic café and homewares store on Carleton Street in Kambah and demanded money from the shop owner.

After the owner refused to hand over money, the offender grabbed her and a they had a short tussle.

The owner managed to push the offender out of the shop and lock the door. The offender was last seen running across Boddington Circuit towards the Kambah ovals.

“There is no point putting your life in danger over any amount of cash or property,” he said.

Police believe that a number of people were walking and driving in the area at the time and may be able to assist with the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity yesterday afternoon around Carleton Street and Boddington Circuit, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
