Be-bopping for Barnardos

George Huitker leads Junk Sculpture
SOME organisations bent upon fundraising might be content with staging a themed Hawaiian or Arabian Nights ball, but nothing as simple as that will do for Radford College, who are cooking up a concert with all funds going to Barnardos.

Drama teacher, muso and football coach George Huitker and his band “Junk Sculpture” seem to be behind the venture, a “Let it B” concert where the letter B takes centre stage.

And that’s where the fun begins as we are advised to “Be Bohemian,” think about “B 52,” “B-Lieve” and even BB King.

You should come dressed as anything beginning with B (there will be prizes for the Best-dressed, while the music features B bands, B song titles and B key signatures, allowing everyone to Bop the night away with Huitker, Junk Sculpture and guest artists Kylie Higgins and Pat Oxley).

Be there.

Radford College’s 2012 Crazy Night, “Let it B” at the college’s TB Millar Hall,  College St Bruce, 7pm, Saturday, August 11. $25 per head in tables of 10, BYO all food and drink, bookings to crazynight@radford.act.edu.au
