TRAINERS from television show The Biggest Loser will be in Tuggeranong tomorrow to spread their healthy living message to children.
With one in four Australian children overweight or obese and recent stats indicating Gen Y is on course to become Gen D (Generation Diabetes), Shannan Ponton and Michelle Bridges believe it’s more important than ever that children develop healthy eating habits early.
The celebrity TV trainers are fronting a national community initiative called Let’s Live Better – Run Around Australia.
They will appear at the Hyperdome Shopping Centre tomorrow, Friday, May 11.
Let’s Live Better is a charity partnership with Hyperdome and the Children’s Food Education Foundation aimed at teaching children about what goes into their shopping trolley and helping kids to educate their parents. There are more than 400 schools involved across Australia, with the healthy living message reaching 120,000 school children, including 4,100 in Canberra.
Meet Shannan and Michelle: Friday May 11, 6pm – 8pm. Hyperdome Shopping Centre, corner Anketell and Reed Streets, Tuggeranong.
