Burst water main damages Gungahlin units

A WATER main burst in Gungahlin last night, spraying water 25 metres into the air and damaging nearby apartments.

Four two level apartments on Eckley and Swain Streets were affected, and 12 residents evacuated when the main burst at about 9.30pm.

Firefighters isolated power and gas to the area while maintenance crews rectified the issue.

There was water damage to the upper levels of the units and significant damage on the ground floors.
