Buyers caught with stolen goods

MOTORBIKES and electrical equipment stolen from a home in Farrer on Friday, May 25, was sold back into the community.

Between 8.30am and 3.25pm, the house was burgled while the occupant was away; stolen property included, five motorcycles consisting of a red and white Husqvarna TE450, a blue Yamaha TTR230, a white and red Yamaha YZ250F, a green Kawasaki KX65 and an orange KTM 50.

Also stolen were laptop computers, iPods and jewellery.

“Police have been following a number of leads in relation to the burglary and have established that the stolen bikes have now been sold back into the local community,” Det-Sgt John Giles said.

“This is a timely reminder to the community that buying stolen goods is an offence and if found in your possession, you may be charged, regardless of whether you bought it from someone or not.”

Police are seeking further information in relation to the burglary and subsequent sale of stolen property and the current location of outstanding property.

Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
