Canberra makes Miller-Heidke’s tour

Kate Miller-Heidke… playing in Canberra.
KATE Miller-Heidke will perform at Zierholz, at the University of Canberra, on Tuesday, August 21, as part of her national Nightflight tour.

She will perform songs from her new album when she returns from America and takes her new band around the country for the first time.

Following double-platinum sales of her last album (2008’s ‘Curiouser”), Nightflight recently debuted at #2 on the National ARIA album chart which has been Kate’s highest chart position to date.

“Nightflight is definitely a more vulnerable and exposed record than anything I’ve done before,” she says. “If ‘Curiouser’ was a playful, dysfunctional adolescent, Nightflight is more like a damaged, melancholy person in her late 20s. With Nightflight, we wanted something darker and more organic, more beautiful and more expansive.”

In the last three years she has toured Australia, Asia, the US and UK, and performed at the Coachella and Lilith Festivals in the US and with Ben Folds on more than 100 shows in the US, UK and Europe.  Kate has just returned to Australia from performing in The Death Of Klinghoffer for the English National Opera.

Tickets at www.uclive.com.au from Wednesday.
