Emmylou Harris heads to Canberra

COUNTRY music singer Emmylou Harris is heading to Canberra.

Part of an Australian tour promoting her new album “Hard Bargain”, Harris, a 12-time Grammy winner, will be in the country this November. Tickets for her Canberra show on November 12 go on sale on Monday, July 2.

The album features 11 original songs which includes three co-written with Grammy and Oscar-winning composer Will Jennings (who most famously penned the lyrics for “My Heart Will Go On” for the film “Titanic”).

“The people in your life, and the joy of life, will always bring you back no matter what, and I think that’s echoed in every song in a way,” Harris said.

“I may be stretching things a little bit but if you had to, ‘Hard Bargain’ would sum up this particular song cycle.”

Emmylou Harris career as a singer and songwriter spans 40 years. She has recorded more than 25 albums. In recognition of her remarkable career, Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.
