Fashion superstar in Fyshwick

CELEBRITY fashion designer and media personality, Henry Roth, is in town this Wednesday and Thursday to help launch a local salon, for consultations and to showcase his latest “Roth Runway” New York collection.

Roth will be personally appearing in White Doves Bridal Boutique in Fyshwick for two days on Wednesday and Thursday to promote his latest “Manhattan Too Hot to Handle” collection, as well as to help launch the new look Bridal Boutique with new owner, Eileen Arnold.

Roth, who has grown the Australian family bridal and fashion business founded by his parents, into an internationally successful brand working and living in both New York City and Sydney, unusually combined a law degree from Sydney University with marketing experience and fashion design.

A former marketer with the entertainment company Michael Edgley International, he also worked in the 1980s in London with Europe’s largest concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith Entertainment and was part of the “Live Aid” event.

In 1991 Henry joined his parents’ wedding gown and evening wear company, later moving to New  York where, with his sister Michelle Roth, he created two well-known brands – “Michelle Roth Couture” and “Henry Roth”.

Both the Roths have been featured on TV shows like “Good Morning America”, “Entertainment Tonight”, Martha Stewart and Oprah.

He also hosted his own TV show “Style Court” as Judge Henry Roth and is now the mentor on the series “Project RunwayAustralia” and the makeover man on Channel 7’s “Beauty & the Geek.”

White Doves Bridal have donated five discontinued Henry Roth gowns to CIT for local Canberra CIT students to completely reconstruct, giving the students the opportunity to showcase their design skills and providing great exposure for them in paving the way to a successful career in fashion and design.

Roth will choose a winning design on the evening and award a prize before the auction begins. An online Charity Auction of gowns, with funds going to Ronald McDonald House Canberra, will commence on August 15 at 6.30pm and will end at 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 22.
