A FASHION show which will showcase key trends using “upcycled” clothing from Vinnies will be held at Floriade from tonight.
St Vincent de Paul Goulburn/Canberra are presenting the professionally styled and designed fashion show at the Look ‘n’ Learn marquee during Nightfest, which aims to “represent everything that is on trend for this spring with a fair splash of vintage inspiration.”
Freelance fashion stylist Gerard Wilton has joined forces with Vinnies and come up with a fashion line completely compiled of upcycled garments.
Gerard says the show will “show people you can find some really amazing things at Vinnies stores.”
“You don’t need to wear them the way you find them in the store, you can mix and match them with designer clothes for instance,” he says.
“There’s great stuff there, some things have never been worn.”
Fifteen models will showcase 37 looks put together by Gerard, with music from the Strangeway DJ’s.
Gerard says his advice for summer is “don’t be afraid of colour.”
“We’re going into warmer weather, so it’s going to be a bright colourful show, with florals, print, bright whites, really resort wear. It’s all about colour, colour colour.”
The Vinnies Fashion show will be held tonight at 7pm and tomorrow at 8pm at the Look ‘n’ Learn Marquee, Floraide.
