Free film screening for kids

SCHOOL holiday fun continues at Gungahlin Library with a free film screening of the popular movie “The Secret of Moonacre”.

The “Secret of Moonacre”, a film adaptation of the novel “The Little White Horse” by Elizabeth Goudge, will be held at the library at 2pm on Thursday January 19.

After the film, there will be an opportunity to speak to one of the film’s producers Monica Penders and ask her questions on the making of the film.

“This ‘fantasy-adventure’ takes you on the journey of 13 year old Maria Merryweather, whose father dies, leaving her orphaned and homeless,” Libraries ACT director Vanessa Little said.

“Maria is forced to leave her luxurious London life to go and live with an eccentric uncle at the mysterious Moonacre Manor where she discovers that she is the last Moon Princess and must unearth the secrets of the past before Moonacre disappears into the sea forever.”

The film is classified PG. Adult supervision is required for all children under the age of 16 years.
