Haddin to captain Prime Ministers XI

AUSTRALIAN Test vice captain Brad Haddin will captain the Prime Ministers XI against Sri Lanka on Friday February 3 at Manuka Oval.

The match will be Haddin’s fourth appearance for the Prime Ministers XI and makes him the second former ACT player, alongside Michael Bevan, to captain the Prime Ministers XI.

Current Queensland Bull and Brisbane Heat batsman Peter Forrest will be vice captain.

Cricket ACT CEO Mark Vergano said: “Having local boy Brad Haddin as captain provided a wonderful inspiration to young local cricketers that they can inspire to achieve at the highest levels of the game.”

The last time the two teams met was in 2008, when the Sri Lankan side beat the Prime Ministers XI.

“This year’s match coincides with the last day of the ACT School holiday making it a great opportunity for Canberra sporting families to get out and enjoy this iconic Canberra event,” Vergano said.
