Around 10.30am the man entered the Food Works store armed with a knife and threatened a staff member, demanding cash.

The offender left the store with a small sum of cash and was seen driving away in a white Toyota Corolla.

There were no injuries to staff members during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 6’3” (190cm) tall, short light brown hair and a moustache. He was wearing a light green high visibility shirt with dark-coloured pants. His haircut was unusually cut in a semi-mullet style, with shaven sides.

Anyone who was in the Higgins area and saw a man matching the description given, or may recognise the logo on the offender’s shirt, or can help identify the offender and/or the white Toyota Corolla, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website at  www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided confidentially.
