House blaze sparked from drying clothes

A HOUSE fire has caused an estimated $300,000 worth of damage to a Kambah house.

Firefighters rushed to the scene just after lunchtime yesterday to find the three- bedroom property on Mackay Crescent ablaze. No-one was inside the house at the time.

The street was blocked in both directions while the fire was extinguished.

Early indications show the cause to be clothes left next to a heater in the lounge room.

There was no damage to neighbouring properties.

Police forensic services will assess the property today to officially determine the cause.
