Kaleen newsagent robbed at gunpoint

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a Kaleen newsagent was robbed at gunpoint yesterday.

Around 5pm a man entered the newsagency and threatened staff with a firearm, demanding cash.

Staff members complied with his demands and the man left the store running across Georgina Crescent and then onto Staaten Street.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance and between 20-25 years of age. He was wearing tracksuit pants, a grey hooded jumper and large sunglasses.

Anyone who saw someone matching the description of the offender in the area around the time of the incident should to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
