Libs target Tuggeranong traffic

THE Canberra Liberals have promised to duplicate Tuggeranong’s Athllon Drive if elected, in a bid to ease traffic congestion.

Opposition Leader Zed Seselja says Tuggeranong has been severely neglected by the Labor Government and that doubling lanes is part of the Canberra Liberals’ overall plan to rejuvenate the area.

“Duplicating Athllon Drive is part of our $700 million plan to fix Canberra’s roads and comes on top of our promise to duplicate Horse Park Drive for Gungahlin residents,” Mr Seselja said.

“This is basic planning and it’s something that Canberrans expect from their local government.”

Shadow Transport Services Minister Alistair Coe says an upgraded Athllon Drive will improve travel times for inter-town ACTION bus users that currently struggle with only one lane.
