5.33pm: Canberra Avenue has re-opened in both directions at the Jerrabomberra Creek Bridge, Fyshwick (between Hume Place and Monaro Highway). Due to the predicted rainfall it will be closed again at 7.30pm until at least 7am.

4.40pm: A tree has fallen across Lhotsky Street, Charnwood. ACT Fire and Rescue are on scene to removing the debris.

4.20pm: The Canberra Hospital has suffered minor flooding. All services to operate as normal. Road update: Morsehead Drive cycle path near Duntroon has collapsed.

3.37pm: Road update: Roads closed include; Mugga Lane between Long Gully Road and Monaro Highway; Black Mountain Road; Majura Road from Federal Highway to Mustang Avenue; Tidbinbilla Road at intersection of Booroomba Road through to Paddy’s River Road; and Cotter Road at Casuarina Sands.

School bus services along Majura Road will still operate with some short delays.

3.05pm: THE Bureau of Meterology has released a severe weather warning for flashing flooding in the ACT. Also affected are regions: Riverina, Upper Western, South Coast, Illawarra, Central Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains, Lower Western, Southern Tablelands and Central Tablelands forecast districts.

An expected range of 70 to 200mm of rain is to hit the region, with the ACT, Illawarra, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and South Coast likely to receive in excess of 100mm tomorrow.

Road updates: Northbourne Avenue in Dickson has been reduced to two lanes. Canberra Avenue at Jerrabomberra Creek bridge remains closed. ACTION Bus Line’s Red Rapid 200 route will now start and end at the   Kingston Railway Station, rather than DFO.

The Kings Highways has been reduced to one lane in both directions between the Molonglo River and the roundabout to access the Defence Building Joint Operations Headquarters.

Cotter bridge is closed, however Uriarra residents and construction vehicles are still permitted to use the road.
