Lyneham unit fire ‘suspicious’

POLICE are treating a fire in a unit complex in Lyneham as suspicious.

Police were called to the fire on Owen Crescent, Lyneham, yesterday afternoon where ACT Fire and Rescue were already on site.

Police said a 49-year-old woman was located on Northbourne Avenue in a “highly distressed state”.  She suffered burns to her arms and face and was taken to hospital.

The unit did not suffer structural damage, however the first floor was badly burnt.

Witnesses are urged to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
