THE 24-year-old man, who drove the car that hit and killed a woman outside The Canberra Hospital yesterday has been charged.
About 4.45pm, two Health Directorate workers were hit by a red Toyota Camry station wagon while they were crossing the road; a 38-year-old woman was killed and the other seriously injured.
Police will allege the car was stolen when it ran a red light and hit the pedestrians who were crossing the intersection at Bateson Road.
The man, from Kambah, was discharged from The Canberra Hospital early this afternoon and taken to the ACT Watch House, where he was charged with manslaughter, culpable driving causing death, culpable driving causing grievous bodily harm and other traffic related offences.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this afternoon.
