Man killed in Chifley crash

Police afp copsA CAR has smashed into a tree early this morning, killing one passenger and injuring two others. 

The white Holden Commodore, carrying four people, was travelling along Eggleston Crescent in Chifley around 12.50am when it lost control and collided with a tree.

The young male in the rear left seat died at the scene, while the other two passengers were hospitalised with minor injuries.

The driver was unhurt and is assisting police with enquiries.

Police crash investigations and reconstruction team are currently investigating the scene.

This is the sixth person to have died on ACT roads this year.
