Man stabbed in domestic dispute

A QUEANBEYAN man has been charged after allegedly stabbing another man last night.

About 8.30pm, police were called to a house on Waratah Street, Queanbeyan, where it was alleged a 56-year-old man had argued with another man who then assaulted him.

The victim suffered stab wounds and was taken to Canberra Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the Waratah Street address and taken to the Queanbeyan Police Station.

He was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and breaching AVO.

The man was refused bail and will face Queanbeyan Local Court today (Wednesday 1 February 2012).
