IT’S still National Reconciliation Week until June 3, in which the focus is not just on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues and constitutional recognition but on cementing good relations between non-indigenous Australians and First Australian citizens.
As a part of the National Museum of Australia’s acknowledgement of the week, senior indigenous curator Margo Neale will give a lecture looking at how art and history museums discharge their obligations to indigenous people in museums of the 21st century.
“Songlining white spaces: Rejigging Indigenous cultural practice in art galleries and museums”, at Visions Theatre, National Museum of Australia, 12.30-1.30pm, June 1.
Free event but bookings essential to bookings@nma.gov.au
