“THE Canberra Times” has a new arts editor. As outgoing editor Diana Streak reveals in a wide-ranging, farewell email, it is to be Julieanne Strachan, who will in the role on September 17.
The perennial Ron Cerabona will be looking after the arts beat until Ms Stranchan takes over.
Ms Strachan was the Sydney-based State Political Correspondent for “The Newcastle Herald” for three years before joining “The Canberra Times” in 2010. Her previous papers include “The Manly Daily”, “The Central Coast Express Advocate” and “The Mornington Leader”. She began her cadetship on “The Dandenong Journal”.
In a final flourish, Ms Streak, who leaves the paper on Friday, opines: “It’s been a privilege to have worked with you all and I thank you for your support and insight over the past five years. Without your expertise and passion our arts pages would not have been held in such high esteem and been so valued by our readers.”
