Police car hits pedestrian

A 19-year-old pedestrian has been injured after getting hit by a police car on patrol today in Civic.

The police car was turning the corner of London Circuit and Verity Lane when it collided with the man who fell to the ground and struck his head.

Police say the man was conveyed to Calvary Hospital for treatment and was later released, suffering minor soreness.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident with oversight provided by the AFP’s Professional Standards.

Any witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken to police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
