Police seek men who helped sex victim

POLICE are looking for two men who helped a woman who was sexually assaulted on Saturday night.

About 10pm, a 25-year-old woman on Akuna Street, Civic, approached the men near the entrance of Myer or SAP House and told them she had been assaulted.

The men walked the woman to a licensed venue, to meet the woman’s boyfriend and police, however had left before police could take their details.

The woman told police she has been sexually assaulted in a nearby lane and had run away from the offender. The alleged offender is described as approximately 60 years old, 178cm tall (5’10”) with a stocky to overweight build, olive skin, brown eyes and short, grey hair.

Police urge the two men who helped the woman to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444 to help with their investigation.

Police are also seeking witnesses of the incident.
