Public assistance leads to robber arrest

A 33-year-old man has been arrested after an aggravated burglary in Braddon yesterday.

About 10.55am police were called to a house in Girrawheen Street after receiving reports from two members of the public of a broken window and an intruder inside the premises.

A short time after arriving on the scene police arrested the man as he left on a bicycle along Elouera Street.

A number of items were stolen from the residence including a computer tablet and digital camera.

Police has commended the awareness and diligence of the two members of the public who contacted them to report the suspicious activity, ultimately leading to the arrest.

The man is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges relating to aggravated burglary, theft and stating a false name.
