Queanbeyan gets a taste for the world

IF you missed the National Multicultural Festival don’t fret – Queanbeyan will  host their annual event on Sunday at Queanbeyan Park.

“This year’s Carnivale Multicultural Festival will again have an exciting line-up of performances on stage in the park, along with food stalls and many fun activities for the whole family to enjoy,’’ Queanbeyan Mayor, Cr Tim Overall said.

“The festival theme of ‘Carnivale!’ reflects the high energy music and dance performances from local multicultural groups and the events we have come to expect from such a festival – food, dance, music and above all a vibrant atmosphere.”

Highlights include dance and song performances by Serbian, Maori, Chinese, Macedonian, Indonesian, African, and South American performers, plus a range of multicultural food.

Carnivale Multicultural Festival at the Queanbeyan Park from 10am to 4pm on Sunday February 26. More information contact John Gunn, Queanbeyan Multilingual Centre, on 6297 6110 or Council’s Cultural Development Officer on 6285 6170.
