BRITTNEY McGlone is the Myer Face of Canberra Racing, beating a record number of entrants for 2012.
Thoroughbred Park received 54 entries into the competition, now in its fourth year.
“It’s an indication that the competition is becoming increasingly popular,” sales and marketing manager Briony Young says.
“The competition allows for education to the public in the traditions and expectations of racewear etiquette.”
Ms McGlone, 22, is an AIS athlete that has competed in hurdles since she was 14 years old. This is the third time she had competed in the Face of Canberra Racing competition.
“I have seen the level of competitors grow over the past few years and every girl in yesterday’s competition was definitely a good candidate,” Ms McGlone said.
Ms McGlone won more than $11,000 in cash and prizes including a diamond and gold pair of earrings from Arnold and Co, an Italian handbag from Gertrude Boutique and $1000 cash.
She will now be the face of Canberra Racing for the next 12 months.
