DESPITE rainfall easing this morning the ACT SES has now received 547 calls for help since Tuesday with Tuggeranong the biggest hit.

According to the Emergency Services Agency the breakdown is: Tuggeranong 146, Belconnen 106, Woden 78, Gungahlin 57 and North Canberra 41.

Although some patchy rain or showers will remain today, there are strong indications the Canberra region will again be affected by heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday.

Arterial roads including Kings Highway, Northbourne Avenue, Majura Road and Canberra Avenue were opened this morning for peak hour traffic however many roads still remain closed.

[box] Closed roads include: Tidbinbilla Road at the intersection of Booroomba Road through to Paddy’s River Road; Corin Road at the intersection with Paddy’s River Road; Paddy’s River Road (local residents will still have access); Naas Road closed one kilometre south of Tharwa; Naas Road bridge over the Gudgenby River near Top Naas; Boboyan Road; Apollo Road; Bendora Dam Road; Orroral Valley Road; Brindabella Road at the start of the dirt section to the NSW border; Mount Franklin Road; Uriarra Crossing; Swamp Creek Crossing; Coppins Crossing; Point Hut Crossing; Oaks Estate Crossing; Sunshine Crossing; Angle Crossing;
Molonglo Gorge Road; and All mountain roads in Namadgi National Park. [/box]
