Search starts for opera stars

THE memorably-named “COW”—Canberra Opera Workshop —will soon be back in rehearsal for its ambitious 2012 opera season and is planning to stage Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” over June to July and Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” in  November.

Artistic director David Reedy and newly-appointed chorus master, Rhys Madison, a young graduate from Adelaide with a background in choral music, will be auditioning this weekend and invites singers and production workers interested in joining COW to attend an information and registration meeting at St Ninians Uniting Church Hall, Brigalow Street Lyneham, at 2pm this Sunday, March 4.

Auditions for the chorus and principal roles will also be held at St Ninian’s on Sunday, March 4 and Sunday, March 11 at the Church Hall. More information at canberraoperaworkshop.org.au/join-cow/, 6249 1831 or  secretary@cow.org.au
