Teen faces sex charges

A 19-year-old Belconnen man will face court this morning on sexual assault charges against a girl under the age of 16.

Police will allege the offence occurred between February and March, 2011, when the girl was aged 13.

The man was interviewed by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team. He was charged with one count of sexual intercourse with a young person.

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, where police will be opposing bail.
