PARKING inspectors will be on the prowl at the National Arboretum to address the “swarm” of activity during school holidays.
General Manager Jason Brown says the Arboretum has reminded visitors to pay for their parking or risk being issued a parking infringement notice.
“Parking inspectors from the Justice and Community Safety Directorate will be regulating parking in the main car park. The Arboretum does not retain any revenue from the fines,” he says.
“Since there is no entry fee to the Arboretum, the parking fee revenue is directed into a range of areas including horticulture, visitor services and infrastructure.”
So far this year The Arboretum has raised approximately $100,000 from parking fees across the 250 paid car spaces.
The cost of paid parking is $2 per hour with a maximum of $7 per day.
