Armed robbery in Nicholls

POLICE are seeking witnesses to an armed robbery of the IGA Supermarket in Nicholls early on Saturday morning.

Around 7.45am, a man entered the IGA store armed with a firearm threatening staff and demanding cash.

The staff members complied, handing over a sum of cash before the offender left the store.

The offender is described as Caucasian with an Australian accent. He is about 183cm (6’) tall with a stocky build. He is believed to be in his mid 30’s.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Nicholls shops at the time of the incident and may be able to assist police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or viawww.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
