AT 27 Lonsdale Street in Braddon, “Lonsdale Street Traders”, is THE latest address for art around town, and it’s filling up fast.
Last night that local apostle of abstract art, David Sequeira, launched ENP 23, a show of work by Southern Highlands artist Susan Buret in shop 3, to which his “Everything Nothing Projects” has moved from the old Center Cinema building. It’s open Saturday and Sunday 11am -4 pm
Tomorrow at 6pm, Megan Jackson, textile designer and one of the Canberra Centenary’s “A Legacy of Good Design” competition winners, is launching her temporary pop-up store in Shop 11 at Lonsdale Street Traders.
Jackson’s work has been exhibited at the Gallery of Australian Design, the ANU School of Art, and Megalo Print Studio + Gallery and her “Marion Scarf,” inspired by some of the sketches and watercolours of Marion Mahony Griffin, was selected as one of five winners of the Canberra Centenary’s ‘A Legacy of Good Design’ competition and is one of the official memorabilia products of the Centenary celebrations.
The Megan Jackson Pop Up Store is the first retail space dedicated to her range of hand printed scarves, homewares and prints and will be will be trading from May 2 to 12, Thursday to Sunday, 10 to 5pm.
