THERE ARE still spaces for the Open Day this Saturday, November 16, at Gudgenby Ready-Cut Cottage in  Namadgi National Park Ceretha Skinner with  Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre’s  inaugural Indigenous artist-in-residence.

Skinner, a Gumbayngirr woman who was named  2013 NAIDOC Week ACT Artist of the Year, is spending  three weeks in Namadgi, to be followed by a sustained period of research at the National Museum of Australia, has    invited members of  the public to visit her to view  her screen printed worksm which  incorporated references to nature and her Indigenous heritage, to visitors can gain a unique insight into her practice and creative process, and to  soak up the natural beauty of Namadgi.

“Art has been a medicine to me,  a therapy,” Skinner says. “It helped me build my self-esteem. Art saved my life.”
