Belconnen pair robbed at knifepoint

POLICE are seeking witnesses after a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were robbed at knifepoint in Belconnen on Saturday night.

Police afp cops-9984The pair were walking home along College Street at around 8.30pm, when three men approached them and demanded their wallets and other belongings.

One of the men produced a knife and the victims complied with their demands, before all three ran away in the direction of Belconnen Mall.

Police conducted a full search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the offenders.

ACT Policing have issued a description of the three muggers as “African in appearance and over six feet tall”, with one wearing a white checkered shirt, dark tracksuit pants with a white stripe and white canvas shoes during the robbery.
